Stress Management

Acadian Plant Health™ agricultural products support your crop’s ability to manage abiotic stress. Stress in plants is difficult to avoid when it comes to commercial agriculture. Applying Acadian Plant Health™ crop protection products will help your crops grow, and even flourish, in challenging environments.

GENERAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Make applications – either foliar or soil applied – at the recommended rates and timings listed on Acadian Plant Health™ product labels. For plant stress management, applications can be made as required, or immediately prior to or following stress periods such as chill, heat stress and drought. Acadian Plant Health™ crop protection products mix well with pest control products so that you can create your own synergistic mix.

HOW DOES ACADIAN PLANT HEALTH™ HELP PLANTS TOLERATE STRESS?

Adverse growing conditions – such as drought, flood, heat, disease and insects – reduce the potential for improved crop yields. Multiple bioactive compounds found within Acadian agricultural products play a role in helping plants tolerate these stress conditions.

  • They encourage the production of proline (an amino acid) that strengthens cell walls and regulates the amount of water within cells to keep cells hydrated and healthy during stressful situations.
  • They contain mannitol (a sugar alcohol) that also helps regulate the amount of water within cells to keep cells hydrated and healthy during stressful situations.
  • They contain key polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates) that trigger antioxidant production within plants. Antioxidants protect plants from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals.
  • They contain natural betaines and encourage betaine production. Betaines are compounds that help adjust the levels of water, salt and other substances within cells so that plants can better manage water, salinity, heat and chill stresses.
