Rice
Acadian Plant Health™ (APH™) seaweed extract has been used on rice and evaluated for its beneficial effects such as an increased root volume and length, increased chlorophyll content, number of tillers and number of filled seeds per panicle. All these improvements lead to increased yield.
BENEFITS FOR RICE INCLUDE:
- Improved root growth and plant establishment
- Increased chlorophyll content
- More tillers
- More filled grains
- Higher yield
SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN, FIELD-TESTED SOLUTIONS
IMPROVED ROOT GROWTH
RICE TRIAL ‘IET 4786 AND MTU 1010’
WEST BENGAL, INDIA
When assessed at the panicle initiation stage, rice plants treated with APH™ seaweed extract had larger roots compared to Control (standard program) as analyzed by WinRhizo® scanner and software. Plants with larger roots take up nutrients and water more efficiently.
INCREASED CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT
RICE TRIAL ‘IET 4786 AND MTU 1010’
WEST BENGAL, INDIA
Means followed by the same letter are not different, p=.05.
Chlorophyll content was increased in rice plants treated with APH™ seaweed extract. The assessment was done 45 days after transplant, after just one application of APH™ seaweed extract. This result means that the treated plants were greener and had greater photosynthetic ability than the Control plants.
INCREASED NUMBER OF TILLERS
RICE TRIAL ‘F-60’
TOLIMA, COLOMBIA
Rice plants treated with APH™ seaweed extract produced more tillers. More tillers lead to more panicles and are an indication of greater yield potential.
MORE FILLED GRAINS PER PANICLE
RICE TRIAL ‘F-60’
TOLIMA, COLOMBIA
Strong rice yields depend upon several factors including the effectiveness with which the plants fill the grains. Rice plants treated with APH™ seaweed extract were able to fill more grains per panicle.
INCREASED YIELD
RICE TRIAL ‘M206’
CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES
RICE TRIAL ‘F-60’
TOLIMA, COLOMBIA
RICE TRIAL ‘NSIC-RC238’
LOS BAÑOS, LAGUNA, PHILIPPINES
Improvements in root growth and photosynthetic potential, more tillers and filled grains result in higher yield. In these trials, the yield increase was substantial at 10.4%, 26% and 54%.
