As the agriculture industry across Europe pushes toward more sustainable, efficient, and resilient crop production, regulatory clarity and trusted innovation are more important than ever. Acadian Seaplants Limited, parent company of Acadian Plant Health™, is proud to share that it has recently added its fifth CE-marked biostimulant under the European Union’s Fertilising Products Regulation (FPR 2019/1009)—a concentrated liquid formula approved in early 2025.
This achievement builds on a strong regulatory year for Acadian, following the CE marking of two powder-based products in early 2024. Together, these approvals reinforce Acadian’s commitment to delivering science-backed, field-proven solutions that meet the EU’s highest standards and requirements for safety, environmental protection, and performance.
Under the FPR, CE marking allows fertilising products—including biostimulants—to be marketed and used across all 27 EU member states without the need for country-by-country approval. But earning the mark is no small feat.
Each product must undergo a rigorous third-party assessment by an EU Notified Body. This includes evaluation of health, safety, and environmental protection criteria, as well as validation of the product’s claimed agronomic effects using applicable standards.

The CE-marked biostimulants from Acadian are derived from Ascophyllum nodosum, a seaweed sustainably harvested and processed using a proprietary extraction method. This process is designed to preserve and concentrate key bioactive compounds known to support plant health and productivity.
Through extensive trials and scientific validation, these products have demonstrated:
As an active member in both EU and ISO biostimulant standardization initiatives, Acadian Seaplants and Acadian Plant Health continue to contribute to shaping the future of the industry. Our CE-marked products align with the principles of the circular economy, climate-smart agriculture, and food security - helping the industry meet growing regulatory and environmental demands without sacrificing performance.
