Acadian Seaplants Limited™ Reaffirms Commitment to UN Global Compact with 2026 Communication on Progress
Dartmouth, NS, Canada – May 8, 2026 – Acadian Seaplants Limited is proud to announce the submission of its 2026 Communication on Progress (CoP), reaffirming the company’s continued commitment to the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact) and its Ten Principles focused on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
The annual Communication on Progress highlights Acadian’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability, ethical business practices, and responsible innovation across its global operations while supporting the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Our participation in the UN Global Compact reflects who we are as a company and the values that guide our business,” says Nelson Gibson, CEO, Acadian Seaplants Limited. “Through our 2026 Communication on Progress, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, responsible growth, and science-based innovation that supports the health and resilience of plants, animals, people, and the ecosystems we depend on.”
As a participant in the UN Global Compact, Acadian Seaplants continues to embed sustainability throughout its operations; from responsible marine resource management and science-based harvesting practices to ethical sourcing standards and supplier expectations that reinforce labour, human rights, environmental stewardship, and anti-corruption principles across its value chain.
This year’s Communication on Progress also reflects Acadian’s continued investment in sustainability strategy and accountability, including the release of the company’s first Sustainability Report and the completion of its EcoVadis sustainability assessment submission. These milestones support Acadian’s long-term commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and creating measurable impact across its global business.
Through ongoing innovation and research, Acadian Seaplants continues to unlock the potential of seaweed to deliver sustainable solutions that strengthen agricultural resilience, support animal wellness, and contribute to human health and nutrition. By combining nature-based solutions with scientific expertise, the company is helping build more resilient food systems and healthier ecosystems for future generations.
